Emily is a current PhD student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Her previous research includes using AI to predict king penguin breeding success based on hunting patterns, developing an underwater camera to measure fish size, and using a robot to analyze the behavior of weakly electric fish during her Fulbright fellowship in Germany.
Beyond research, Emily enjoys exploring new cultures through travel and language learning, riding horses, and, in true San Diego fashion, has recently started surfing.
